Abstract

Abstrak

Keterbatasan ruang gerak perempuan menjadi fenomena yang dialami perempuan di kehidupan sehari-hari
mereka, hal itu tumbuh terkait dengan relasi kuasa yang terjadi di masyarakat. Salah satunya perempuan
sebagai pelaku kesenian, di mana ia memiliki dua peran di masyarakat yakni sebagai penghibur ketika di
panggung juga sebagai perempuan yang harus menjaga martabat dan nama baik keluarganya ketika di
kehidupan sehari-harinya. Kedua hal itu seolah kontradiktif, hal ini terjadi di Desa Sindanglaya, Subang,
Jawa Barat, karena peranan relasi kuasa pada masyarakat sunda yang sangat mempengaruhi pola kehidupan
masyarakatnya. Perancangan film fiksi ini mengangkat tentang bagaimana kehidupan seorang penari
Jaipong menghadapi keterbatasan yang ada di kehidupannya. Melalui penelitian kualitatif dengan
pendekatan etnografi di Desa Sindanglaya, Subang, Jawa Barat, di mana penulis mendapatkan data sebagai
landasan perancangan film ini. Melalui film dengan penataan kamera yang menekankan pada potret diri
perempuan dalam menyampaikan jalan cerita. Penggunaan Subjective Point of View sebagai upaya penulis
melibatkan langsung audience dalam merasakan kejadian yang ada di film yang menperlihatkan kehidupan
seorang penari Jaipong. Penulis sebagai penata kamera berusaha menerjemahkan dari data yang didapat
melalui penelitian, diolah menjadi konsep visual yang representatif. Perancangan film ini diharapkan dapat
memberi pengalaman baru bagi para audience dalam menikmati sebuah film dan melihat fenomena
keterbatasan perempuan khususnya penari Jaipong.

Absract

The limited space for womens become a phenomenon that experienced by womens in their daily lives, it 

grows associated with the power relations that occur in the society, among of them, there is a woman who
become an art performers, where she has two roles in the society, which namely as an entertainer on the
stage and as a woman who must maintains the dignity and good name of her family when in her daily life.
Both of these social roles seem being contradictory, yet this problem occured in Sindanglaya Village,
Subang, West Java, because of the role of power relations in Sundanese society in which greatly influenced
by the pattern of life of the people. The design of this fictional film tells about the life of a Jaipong dancer
who faces the limitations that exist in her life, which made by qualitative research method and an
ethnographic approach in Sindanglaya Village, Subang, West Java, which the researcher has obtained for
the requirements in the filim-making. This film featured by the concept of camera styles which emphasize
the self-portrait of women in expressing for the storyline itself. This film also exposing a Subjective Point
of View so that the audience can be participated indirectely in the events that occur in every scene of the
life of a Jaipong dancer in this film. The writer as well as a camera stylist in this film tried to translate the
research materials, into a representative visual concept. The design of this film is expected to provide new
experiences for the audience to enjoy this film and see the limited phenomena of women, especially as a
Jaipong dancer.
