Abstract

ABSTRACT Beadwork is the embroidery technique that uses beads material and it aims to decorate the surface textile. Its utilization is developed both in media and forms. This is supported by an increase in demand for products with 3-dimensional beadwork details but the forms on the market are less developed, generally in the form of flower or abstract. This research aims to develop a 3-dimensional beadwork technique to achieve various forms, one of which is coral reefs. The coral reefs shape is inspired by the shape that has good quality in the pantar's strait, Alor. This research uses a qualitative method. Visual analysis of coral reefs shape conducted to initiate the experiment so that it can be stilation by beadwork stitches technique and market’s bead material. In this research produces a demi-couture fashion inspired by NTT's traditional clothes, with the details of coral reefs that made from a 3-dimensional beadwork technique.
