Abstract

ABSTRACT The Tuban area in East Java is one of the producing areas of woven cloth and woven fabric, which is commonly called gedog woven fabric, made from cotton plants which are then spun into yarn so that it continues into the weaving process. Gedog woven fabric that has 100% organic cotton as a basis has the potential to be developed following the eco-fashion trends that are increasingly in demand by the public along with increasing public awareness will require increased environmental and environmental sustainability. One technique that is popular with this fashion trend is the eco-print technique. The results of environmentally friendly printing techniques look natural and imperfect, but can create a beautiful aesthetic values and seem modest. Seeing the potential in this study, the author wants to provide new visual variations on Gedog woven fabric using eco-print techniques with Tuban batik as inspiration so as not to eliminate Tuban characteristics. The research methods used in this study are the study of literature, experiments, interviews and observations. This study aims to provide new visual variations on Gedog woven fabric without eliminating the unique and natural-looking character of Gedog woven material. The final results of this study are in the form of sheets of woven cloth (jarit) patterned eco-print with batik Tuban as inspiration and sketch of development plans on fashion products.
