Abstract

Elementary school is a transition for children from playground to learning period. It can also be their first impression to a learning environment where most of them are visual learner which they learn firstly from what they saw. Therefor the classroom interior is very influential for the children, especially the classroom walls because most of the children’s view are focused on it even when the class is still ongoing so it needs a suitable colour for children to maximize their concentration. Consequently, colour is one of most important element when organize the interior, particularly for a class which will be used to study because colour is quite influential to children’s psychology. The psychological responses in human against colour is varied, there are colours that give positive responses like energy, hope, balance, and so forth. There are also colours that give negative psychological responses such as sadness, violance, misery, and so forth. Hence we need to apply the suitable colour in the classroom so as not to cause negative pcychological responses to the people in it, in this case particularly are the elementary school students.
