ABSTRACT


Plastic straws that contain Polypropylene and Polystyrene are drinking tools
which is used for a moment and ultimately increases the amount of waste. Waste plastic straws in Bandung is one of element that causes pollution that is not easy to decompose due to plastic and inorganic. The methods for achievement in craft art creation, which are divided into exploration, planning, embodiment and evaluation phases. From the exploration process, it is necessary to realize the works of craft and the application of hot textiles technique. An alternative to the industry of developing functional products, contributing ideas to the surrounding community, functional product alternatives for consumers, environmental
preservation, and increasing the economy value of waste. This result uses methods of observation, exploration, and literature study. Exploration results show that use of hot textiles techniques on straws produces innovative products using
several alternatives.
