Perancangan Eksperimentasi Lontar Prasi Sebagai Media Pembuatan Manuscript Modern

Abstract

Abstract One of the famous cultural heritage that has long existed for thousands of years is the Lontar leaf painting. One of the cities that happen to use lontar as a representation of media to record history is Bali. Bali has millions of cultural heritage in later becomes attraction for the tourists, and one of them is Lontar. One of the most well-known is Lontar Prasi. Lontar prasi is being made in Tenganan, Pagerisingan, Karangasem village. Tenganan Lontar Prasi’s usually depicting Kekawin Ramayana and Mahabrata. The narration believed by the vast majority of Balinese people still very much balicentric or in the scope of Balinese cultural heritage. People still unfamiliar of whether Lontar leaves could be visualized in modern usage although the technical creation of Lontar Prasi is still preserved until now. Based on the data being collected, there will be a design experiment to cultivate Lontar in creating modern narration but still hold the very much technical style to paint on the Lontar as a media.
