Abstract

Abstract Indonesia has coconut plantations whose largest production is obtained from small farmers. One of the small coconut farmers is exist in Kampung Nyenang, Cipendeuy. From the production of coconut fruit, it produces waste of old coconut fiber with a total of 5.25 tons per month. In 2014, a study was conducted by the Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Tekstil, where they tried to produce natural dyes using coconut fiber waste material based on age variations. It can be concluded that the amount of potential that is owned by Kampung Nyenang in producing waste of old coconut fiber and the results of research that has led to the conclusion that natural dyes from old coconut husk are possible but are still limited to general conclusions. Based on the above problems, this research will develop these two aspects in order to be able to produce a fashion craft collection by applying natural coloring techniques using old coconut coir which comes from Kampung Nyenang Cipendeuy optimally as a coloring technique on cloth.
