Perancangan Buku Fotografi Mengenai Asal-usul Nama Kuliner Khas Cirebon

Abstrak
Cirebon merupakan salah satu kota yang terletak di provinsi Jawa Barat, letaknya yang
strategis membuat kota ini ramai dikunjungi. Berdatangannya para pengunjung yang berasal
dari luar wilayah kota ini telah terjadi sejak zaman dahulu. Para pedagang yang bahkan berasal
dari luar Indonesia berdatangan melalui jalur laut, hingga akhirnya menjadi salah satu penyebab
terjadinya percampuran budaya di Cirebon. Proses akulturasi ini tidak hanya mempengaruhi
situs bersejarah saja namun juga mempengaruhi kuliner tradisional yang disajikan dalam
kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, informasi mengenai adanya proses akulturasi pada kuliner
tradisional masih belum begitu diketahui secara luas oleh masyarakat Cirebon. Hal tersebut
terjadi karena referensi mengenai informasi akan asal-usul nama Kuliner tradisional kota
tersebut masih minim, oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan sebuah media informasi yang dapat membantu
memperkenalkannya kepada masyarakat secara luas. Media berupa buku fotografi dipilih karena
selain untuk menyampaikan informasi melalui teks tentang asal-usul nama kuliner Cirebon,
media ini dapat memperlihatkan bentuk visual dari setiap kuliner melalui foto. Metode yang akan
digunakan dalam perancangan tugas akhir ini adalah kualitatif dengan melakukan pengumpulan
data meliputi observasi langsung, wawancara, kuesioner dan studi pustaka. Metode analisis yang
digunakan adalah metode dengan SWOT. Perancangan tugas akhir ini diharapkan dapat menjadi
salah satu media yang tepat untuk menyebarkan informasi mengenai kuliner tradisional kepada
masyarakat yang berada di dalam kota maupun yang berada di luar kota Cirebon.

Abstract
Cirebon is one of the cities in East Java province, its strategic location makes everyone coming
to the city. The arrival of visitors from outside the Cirebon region has occurred since ancient times.
Because of its strategic location, this city is often visited by tourists from various cities, it resulted
in the merging of cultures in this city. This, in fact, has happened since a long time ago, the
merchants from other cities came to Cirebon, even several foreign merchants came through the
sea. The process of the acculturation did not only influence the historical sites, but also the
traditional culinary in their daily lives Unfortunately, the information about the acculturation
process in Cirebon's culinary is still pretty foreign even to Cirebon’s people themselves. It’s
because of the minimal information regarding the origin of its city’s signature culinary, therefore
an information medium that can help to introduce Cirebon’s traditional culinary is needed for the
society at large. A photography book is chosen as the medium to help to introduce Cirebon’s
traditional culinary since not only this media can deliver the information through text, but also
through several pictures which show the pleasing and informative visual of the food. The method

used to design this final project is qualitative method of collecting data through direct observation,
interview, questionnaire, and literature review. The analysis method used for this final project is
SWOT method. This final project is established in the hope it can be one proper medium of various
media out there to distribute the information about Cirebon’s signature and traditional culinary
to the people inside or outside the city.
