Analisis Pola Desain Arsitektur Informasi Pada Situs Web Universitas Telkom

Abstract

Abstrak Dunia pendidikan khususnya perguruan tinggi menggunakan situs web sebagai sarana publikasi. Situs web perguruan tinggi juga harus menyajikan informasi yang jelas dan mudah ditemukan. Banyak orang yang mengakses lebih dari satu situs web perguruan tinggi pada saat yang bersamaan, khususnya calon mahasiswa yang mencari informasi saat masa pendaftaran. Penerapan information architecture yang tepat pada sebuah situs web dapat memberikan gambaran bagaimana sebuah situs web menyajikan suatu informasi sehingga informasi yang dicari mudah ditemukan. Design pattern menjadi solusi umum dengan membuat suatu solusi yang bisa digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan dan dapat dipakai berulang kali pada kasus yang serupa. Design pattern khusus dibutuhkan sebagai panduan dalam membangun dan merancang suatu situs web dengan menganalisis macammacam task pada penggunaan information architecture. Universitas Telkom mengembangkan situs web tersendiri sebagai sarana bagi civitas akademik untuk mengetahui informasi terbaru tentang kampus. Kemudian juga sebagai perguruan tinggi swasta, banyak dijadikan sebagai alternatif pilihan perguruan tinggi oleh calon mahasiswa yang sebelumnya menjadikan perguruan tinggi negeri sebagai pilihan utama. Dengan mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi design pattern khusus information architecture situs web Universitas Telkom dengan situs web perguruan tinggi lain, kemudian merancang purwarupa situs web sebagai rekomendasi perbaikan yang dapat mempermudah pengguna mencari informasi pada situs web Universitas Telkom. Special design patterns are needed as a guide in building and designing a website by analyzing various tasks in the use of information architecture. Telkom University develops a website as a means for the academic community to find out the latest information about campus. Then also as a private institution, used as an alternative choice of university by prospective students who previously made public universities as the main choice. By identifying and evaluating design patterns for information architecture of the Telkom University website with other websites, then designing a website prototype as a recommendation for improvement that can simplify and speed up users to find information on the Telkom University website.
