Analisis Efek Non Linier Four Wave Mixing (fwm) Pada Sistem Long Haul Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (u-dwdm)

Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan sistem komunikasi optik yang pesat mengakibatkan perkembangan pada teknologi berbasis WDM juga meningkat. Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) yang merupakan pengembangan dari teknologi berbasis WDM memiliki banyak kelebihan dibanding teknologi pendahulunya. Namun sistem DWDM memiliki beberapa kelemahan, salah satunya efek non linieritas yang dapat mempengaruhi performansi Jaringan optik. Tugas Akhir ini akan membahas pengaruh efek non linier Four Wave Mixing (FWM) terhadap performansi sistem Long Haul Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (U-DWDM). Penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 skenario. Skenario pertama, melakukan perhitungan matematis dan simulasi pada sistem Long Haul U-DWDM tanpa penguat dan tanpa efek non linier. Skenario kedua, melakukan perhitungan matematis dan simulasi pada sistem Long Haul U-DWDM dengan penguat Hybrid Optical Amplifier FRAEDFA dan tanpa efek non linier. Skenario ketiga, melakukan simulasi pada sistem Long Haul U-DWDM tanpa penguat dan dengan efek non linier. Skenario keempat, melakukan simulasi pada sistem Long Haul U-DWDM dengan penguat Hybrid Optical Amplifier FRA-EDFA dan dengan efek non linier. Hasil penelitian akhir yaitu efek non linier Four wave Mixing (FWM) pada sistem Long Haul UDWDM dapat menurunkan kualitas performansi pada sistem hingga lebih dari 10%. namun dengan penambahan Hybrid Optical Amplifier (HOA) FRA-EDFA pada sistem dapat meminimalisir efek non linieritas tersebut. Sehingga kualitas performansi sistem akan tetap baik walaupun terkena efek non linieritas tersebut. Kata kunci : U-DWDM, FWM, Hybrid Optical Amplifier Abstract The development of the Optical Communication Systemshas resulted in increased deman for bandwidth in broadband aplication. The use of WDM-based systems in order to be able to utilize bandwidth efficiently. However, the WDM-based system has several weaknesses, which one is the non-linearity effect that can affect the performance of optical network. This final assigment will discuss about the non-linear Four Wave Mixing (FWM) effect on the performance of the Long Haul Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (U-DWDM) system. There are 4 scenarios. The first scenario, doing mathematical calculations and simulations on the Long Haul U-DWDM system without Optical Amplifier and without non-linear effects. The second scenario, doing mathematical calculation and simulation on the Long Haul U-DWDM system with FRA-EDFA Hybrid Optical Amplifier amplifier and without non-linear effects. The third scenario, simulates a Long Haul U-DWDM system without Optical Amplifier and with non-linear effects. The fourth scenario, simulates a Long Haul U-DWDM system with a FRA-EDFA Hybrid Optical Amplifier amplifier and with non-linear effects. The results of the non-linear effect of Four Wave Mixing (FWM) on the Long Haul U-DWDM system can reduce the quality of performance on the system by more than 10% but with the FRA-EDFA Hybrid Optical Amplifier (HOA) on the system it can minimize the non-linearity effect.
