Abstract

Abstrak Pendidikan adalah usaha sadar dan terencana untuk mewujudkan suasana belajar dan proses pembelajaran agar peserta didik secara aktif mengembangkan potensi dirinya untuk memiliki kekuatan spiritual keagamaan, pengendalian diri, kepribadian, kecerdasan, akhlak mulia, serta keterampilan yang diperlukan dirinya, masyarakat, bangsa dan negara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Telkom tepatnya di Fakultas Ekonomi bisnis dengan student engagement sebagai variabel bebas serta prestasi akademik sebagai variabel terikat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa tinggi student engagement, prestasi akademik mahasiswa Manajemen Bisnis Telekomunikasi dan Informatika (MBTI) angkatan 2015 Universitas Telkom. Selain itu, untuk melihat seberapa tinggi pengaruh student engagement terhadap prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa program studi Manajemen Bisnis Telekomunikasi dan Informatika (MBTI) angkatan 2015 Universitas Telkom . Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa aktif yang merupakan mahasiswa dari program studi Manajemen Bisnis Telekomunikasi dan Informatika (MBTI) angkatan 2015 Universitas Telkom. Metode yang diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan tujuan penelitian deskriptif. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini melalui analisis statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, analisis regresi linear sederhana, koefisien determinasi, dan uji hipotesis uji T. Hasil yang didapat pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa student engagement berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa program studi Manajemen Bisnis Telekomunikasi dan Informatika (MBTI) angkatan 2015 Universitas Telkom. Hasil tersebut telah terbukti berdasarkan hipotesis adalah H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil uji dan analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa student engagement memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik dengan persentase sebesar 64,1%, dan sebanyak 35,9% sisanya dijelaskan oleh sebab atau faktor lainnya yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. The purpose of this study was to find out student engagement, academic achievement of Management Business Telecomunication and Informatics students Year of 2015. In addition, to see how the influence of student engagement on academic achievement on Management Business Telecomunication and Informatics students Year of 2015. The population in this study were active students which were students of Management Business Telecomunication and Informatics students Year of 2015. The method applied in this study is a quantitative method with the aim of descriptive research. Data analysis in this study through descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, and T test hypothesis test. The results obtained in this study indicates that student engagement has a significant influence on academic achievment in Management Business Telecomunication and Informatics students Year of 2015 student. This result has been proven based on the hypothesis that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the results of the test and data analysis, it can be concluded that student engagement has a significant influence on academic achievement with a percentage by 64.1%. While the remaining 35,9% is explained by other causes or factors not examined in this study. Keywords: Student engagement, Academic Achievement, Learning Achievement.
