Produksi Film Dokumenter “Garis Merah Sang Purba”

Taman Nasional Way Kambas (TNWK) merupakan kawasan pelestarian alam bagi satwa liar, salah satunya gajah sumatera. Persoalan terbesar terhadap kelestarian Gajah Sumatera adalah penurunan habitat yang terus menerus terjadi, konflik gajah dengan manusia yang menyebabkan kematian gajah, dan perburuan gading gajah secara liar. Selain itu penularan penyakit EEHV (Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes Virus) menjadi ancaman baru bagi kepunahan Gajah Sumatera. Oleh sebab itu penulis tertarik untuk mengangkat fenomena ini kedalam sebuah film dokumenter dengan durasi 8 menit. Karya film dokumenter ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab peristiwa kematian Gajah Sumatera terutama di Way Kambas, Lampung.

ABSTRACT Way Kambas National Park (TNWK) is a natural conservation area for wildlife, one of which is the Sumatran elephant. The biggest problems with the preservation of Sumatran Elephants are the continious habitat decline, elephant conflict with humans which causes the death of elephants, and wild hunting of elephant ivory. Beside the transmission of EEHV (Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes Virus) is a new threat to the extinction of the Sumatran Elephant. This is why the author interested in bringing this phenomenon into a documentary film with 8 minutes duration. This documentary film aims to knowing the causes of the deaths of Sumatran Elephants, especially in Way Kambas, Lampung
