Analisis Pembentukan Identitas Diri Akbar Febians Dalam Konteks Flexing di Media Sosial Instagram
Abstract
One of the entrepreneurs or businessmen who often show off luxury cars and vacations around the world share his
moments on Instagram social media, namely @akbarfebians, which has resulted in the emergence of the flexing
phenomenon, namely the emergence of changes in consumer behavior and lifestyle for the sake of content. Flexing
can result in a decline in students' mental health in the form of anxiety because they cannot follow various content that
is deliberately viral by other people or is often referred to as FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). This study analyzes the
formation of Akbar Fabian's self-identity in Flexing on Instagram social media. This study uses a qualitative
research type with a netnogaphy approach through the analysis method of personal layer elements, enactment
layers, relational layers, and communal layers. The study results show that Akbar Febian as an influencer uses a
flexing strategy to form a glamorous and luxurious identity to motivate others. Axiologically, this study expected that
Akbar Febian can always be consistent in creating content that makes him an individual who has innovation,
creativity, and the courage to appear different on Instagram social media.
