Aplikasi Motif Batik Cimahi-Ciawitali Menggunakan Teknik Rajut Mesin Untuk Produk Fesyen

Abstrak

Abstract Batik Cimahi is the work of the people of Cimahi City through a competition held by Cimahi City’s Dekranasda. The motifs that are produced from characteristic of Cimahi City. One of them is the Ciawitali motif inspired by one of the names of the region and also from the existence of bamboo plants that grow there a lot. The purpose of this study was to develop opportunities and create new innovations on products from Batik Cimahi motifs using non-printing textile techniques, that is a knitting machines techniques using a circular computer knitting machine. The research method used for this study is a qualitative method by collecting data including observation and interviews with one of the Cimahi Batik craftsmen, then explorations. The author also observes several shopping centers, in order to see the development of designs that are currently in great demand at this time. The products produced are casual modest wear so that they can be used in daily activities.The results of this study are to prove that there are opportunities from computer machine knitting techniques as an alternative producer of batik motifs in the form of clothing products. Then to develop batik-patterned fashion products to be more diverse, namely casual-style clothing. Keyword : Batik Cimahi, Ciawitali motif, knitting machine, modest wear.
