Engaruh Percakapan Bermediasi Komputer Terhadap Pola Komunikasi Keluarga (Studi Pada Mahasiswa Rantau Di Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Telkom)

Abstrak

ABSTRAK Saat ini banyak keluarga yang anggotanya terpisah dengan berbagai tujuan, seperti pekerjaan, pendidikan atau kehidupan sosial lainnya, salah satu contohnya adalah orang tua yang dituntut terpisah dengan anaknya untuk tujuan perkuliahan. Komunikasi antara anak dengan orang tua harus tetap berjalan meski berjarak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh percakapan bermediasi komputer pada pola komunikasi keluarga dan faktor percakapan bermediasi komputer apa yang mempengaruhi pola komunikasi keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik nonprobability sampling dan jumlah responden sebanyak 100 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan yaitu sebesar 65.9% antara percakapan bermediasi komputer terhadap pola komunikasi keluarga, jadi semakin tinggi penggunaan percakapan bermediasi komputer maka akan meningkatkan komunikasi keluarga. Selain itu faktor percakapan bermediasi komputer yang mempengaruhi pola komunikasi keluarga adalah faktor ketenangan dan interaktivitas CMC, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa rantau Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Telkom angkatan 2018 merasa nyaman dan percaya diri ketika menggunakan percakapan bermediasi komputer (CMC) serta mereka lebih memilih menggunakan CMC untuk berkomunikasi.

ABSTRACT Nowadays, there are a lot of families whose member has been separated because by various purpose like job, education, or other social life. One of the example is the parent who are required to separate from their children for the purpose of education. Communication between children and parents must to go along even though there was a distance between them. This research have a purpose to find out the effect of computer-mediated communication on family communication patterns and what is the factor of computer-mediated communications that have the effect on family communication patterns. This research method used a quantitative with non-probability sampling technique and the numbers of respondents are 100 people. The results of the study showed a positive and significant influence that is equal to 65.9% between computer-mediated communication on family communication patterns. So the higher the use of computer-mediated communication will increase family communication. In addition, computer-mediated communication factors that influence family communication patterns are composure and CMC interactivity, this shows that the student of University of Telkom Communication Studies, year 2018 feel comfortable and confident when using computer-mediated communication (CMC) and they are prefer to use CMC to communicate.
