Kepribadian Fully Function Person Pada Karakter Rara Dalam Film ‘imperfect’

Abstrak

ABSTRAK Manusia diciptakan dengan perbedaan suku, ras, dan lain – lain, menjadikan manusia dengan berbagai keragamannya. Tetapi pada bidang industri menggunakan model dengan standar kecantikan tertentu. Sehingga masyarakat menginterpretasikan hal tersebut sebagai “standar†kecantikan atau ketampanan. Fenomena ini disebut sebagai insecurity. Dan akhirnya fenomena ini diangkat menjadi film yang berjudul Imperfect. Film Imperfect bercerita mengenai Rara yang berjuang untuk menjadi versi terbaik dari dirinya. Dalam teori Carl Rogers, seseorang yang berhasil menjadi versi terbaik dari dirinya disebut sebagai orang yang berfungsi sepenuhnya. Peneliti ini akan menganalisis petanda dan penanda sesuai dengan metode Semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Penanda adalah wujud fisik yang terlihat oleh mata. Sedangkan petanda adalah pemahaman terhadap yang dilihat mata, Kemudian penanda dan petanda ini akan membentuk referent. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya kelima ciri Fully Function Person pada karakter Rara. Peneliti berharap penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi untuk penelitian selanjutnya yang meneliti topik teori Carl Rogers. Differences in ethnicity, race, skin color, body shape, height, face shape, and so on make humans unique with their various variations. But in some industrial fields related to visual appearance used models that have certain beauty standards. So, people interpret this as a "standard" of beauty or good looks. People think that they must have body and face shapes like these models. This phenomenon is known as “insecurityâ€. Then, this phenomenon has been widespread, and many people experience it. So, there are many film makers who have produced works with the theme of the phenomenon of insecurity. One of them is Imperfect. Imperfect film tells the story of a character named Rara who strives to be the best version of herself. In Carl Rogers theory, someone who manages to actualize themselves or develop to be the best version of themselves will become a fully function person. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe the fully function person of Rara's character in Imperfect film. This study uses a qualitative research methodology. Researchers will analyze the signified and signifier according to the Ferdinand de Saussure Semiotics method. A signifier is a physical form that visible. While signified is the understanding or reasoning of what is seen by the eye. Then the signified and the signifier will form a referent / external reality. The result of this research is the discovery of the five features of the Fully Function Person in the Rara character. Researchers hope that this research can be useful for communication science research, specifically for research using the Ferdinand de Saussure Semiotics method or using the Person Centered (Carl Rogers) theory.
