Abstract

The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the mental health field can help people understand their conditions. Individuals can discover what disorders they may be experiencing and find solutions to the problems they face, as well as receive support when needed. The benefits of AI can be immense for those who find it difficult to access in-person mental care. However, the use of AI is not without its drawbacks, including issues such as self-diagnosis, anxiety, and even depression. There is a lack of research on the psychological impact of using AI for mental health literacy. Therefore, this study aims to explore people's perceptions of using AI as a medium for mental health literacy so that researchers can understand the positive and negative impacts of this behavior. The subjects of this study were 204 individuals in Bandung who had searched for and read about mental health literacy. This study is quantitative, employing a mental health literacy perception scale with 51 items and a reliability value of 0.959. The results indicated that 49.51% had negative perceptions of mental health literacy, while 50.49% had positive perceptions.
